Pearle - Pearle was living in an apartment with her granddaughter, and her dream was to retire and have enough money saved for a home of their own. Saving money using the financial education she received from WORC allowed her to achieve her dream of owning her own home.

Jacoba - Jacoba had less than perfect credit, and she wanted a home of her own. The people in the WORC financial education program helped her to understand her options, even when she thought she didn't have any options. They helped her to become financially empowered, learn to save, and most importantly, set financial goals for herself. Within a year, she had saved enough for a house and repaired her credit.

Katy - Katy was able to save over the summer by limiting the amount of clothing and new things she purchased.

Barb - Barb works in the WORC financial education program, and she speaks about how excited the staff members get when one of the students has graduated from the program. The staff relishes every student's success.

Henry - Henry joined the WORC financial education program to save for his son's education. He saved $1200 in a year and a half, and WORC gave him $600 at the end of this time. He said that you can't get this kind of return on your investment anywhere else, and he found that is was not a hardship to save. Saving is achieved by controlling your wants.

Janet - Janet wanted to save for her college education. She used her IDA savings plan to further her education in order to get a better job in a field she loved.

Leslie - Leslie had bad credit and wanted to save for a house of her own. She found the classes in budgeting, borrowing, and IRA savings valuable, and that the easiest way for her to save was to have an automatic paycheck withdraw into her savings account. She was able to purchase her own home and WORC helped her clean up her credit report.

Vanessa - Vanessa saved enough money for a home of her own. She found that the monthly savings amount was easy to attain if she did not unwisely spend money on things like fast food, video games, and other unnecessary expenses.

Ron - Ron was in the process of starting his own electrical contracting business when he decided to open a family saving account plan for his son's education.
